Things got pretty heated between Citizen TV’s Seth Olale and Kenyan influencer TL Elder last night on X.

This isn’t the first time the two have clashed online, but this time, the argument was about some photos Olale posted.

It all started when Olale shared images claiming they were from the ongoing crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The problem? Those photos were actually taken about a year ago. TL Elder was quick to call him out, accusing him of trying to fool people into thinking the images were recent.

In a X post that got a lot of attention, TL Elder said, “Boss @SethOlale, I am not done with you, brainless twat. You have been sharing pictures that you are currently in DRC yet these pictures are from one year ago. The worst part is that you insulted our National hero Larry Madowo for clout while using old pictures???”

But the drama didn’t stop there. Olale, frustrated with being compared to Larry Madowo, a respected Kenyan journalist now at CNN, fired back.

He defended his years of experience and tried to show that he was just as professional, if not more, than the comparisons made to Madowo.

The exchange left many Kenyans on X talking, with some suggesting that Olale might be going through something personal.

Others felt it was just his pride and ego getting in the way. Still, Olale has been in the journalism game for years, and his past work has earned him respect though this X fight may not be doing him any favors.

At the end of the day, the back-and-forth shows how much tension there is online, especially when it comes to how journalists are seen and the kind of content they post.

For now, neither Olale nor Elder seems ready to back down.
