Bungoma senator and Ford Kenya party boss Moses Wetangula has been cleared to defend Bungoma senatorial post in August contest.
Wetangula was flanked with Bungoma gubernatorial hopeful and speaker of the Senate Kenneth Lusaka to present nomination papers to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Friday.
According to Wetangula, he resolved to chart the welfare of Bungoma residents as a senator based on his selfless commitment to serving the interests of locals.
He assure that whatever Ford Kenya party will get after DP Ruto clinching to power in August, will be shared amongst other Kenyans. Contented Wetangula reiterated that he don’t want to secure top seats even if Kenya Kwanza takes power after August battle.
“I am defending my seat of senator Bungoma county because I’m not selfish. Whatever I’ll get for Ford Kenya will be shared amongst other Kenyans. I don’t have to be up there. I’m satisfied where I am.”
While dismissing Azimio – One Kenya’s popularity and grip in Western region, Wetangula alluded that CS Eugene Wamalwa and Kakamega County Governor Wickliffe Oparanya, who are Raila’s bulldozers in Mulembe region, should muscle to take positions in Opposition side after August race.
“I have seen Azimio affiliates struggling to get crowds in Bungoma for their rallies. It is early enough for Eugene Wamalwa and Wickliffe Oparanya to learn the hard ways of being in opposition” added Wetangula

Sources aware to Kenya Kwanza Alliance power sharing had indicated that Wetangula had been assigned the Speaker of the National Assembly while Amani National Congress (ANC) boss Musalia Mudavadi to take Prime Minister slot, which will be inserted through executive order.
However, sources also alleged that Wetangula bad Mudavadi were sandwiched between hard tasks of delivering 70 per cent of Western region votes to Kenya Kwanza Alliance vote basket to downplay Raila Odinga.
