A dramatic confrontation unfolded in Nairobi’s upscale Karen estate after a man allegedly pulled out a gun on a woman attempting to reclaim a house she insists is legally hers.

The woman, identified as Mary Waithera Gikonyo, arrived at the disputed property armed with a court order, demanding that the occupants vacate immediately.

However, her demands were met with resistance from a man who claimed he also had rights to the house.

As tensions escalated, the man, visibly agitated, attempted to pull out a gun, allegedly to intimidate Waithera.

In the midst of the altercation, she was heard shouting, “He has a gun,” prompting police officers on the scene to intervene swiftly and prevent any violence.

“This is my house, and I am here to occupy it,” Waithera insisted, calling on police and onlookers to witness the unfolding events.

According to Waithera, she has been battling for ownership of the house for years.

She claims that despite the court ruling in her favor, the current occupants have refused to leave, allegedly using connections with senior political figures to hold on to the property.

She further accused the man of attempting to intimidate her, saying that threats and resistance have been ongoing tactics to prevent her from reclaiming her home.

The dispute highlights a long-standing property battle, with both sides asserting ownership.

While Waithera maintains that court documents recognize her as the rightful owner, the current occupants argue they have legitimate grounds to remain in the house.

With emotions running high and allegations of government interference complicating the case, Waithera was ultimately forced to leave without taking possession of the home.
