A video of socialite Mary Biketi, who openly identifies as CS Wycliffe Oparanya’s romantic partner, has caused a stir online.

In the clip, Biketi is seen stepping out of a luxurious fuel-guzzling vehicle, accompanied by a bodyguard, before heading for a salon appointment in Nairobi.

The video has left many Kenyans questioning whether public officials should extend government perks to their personal partners.

Many have criticized Oparanya for what appears to be the misuse of government resources.

The fact that Biketi is being chauffeured in a high-end car with a bodyguard benefits usually reserved for government officials has raised eyebrows.

Kenyans are demanding answers, asking why taxpayers’ money should be used to fund the lifestyle of a private citizen with no official role.

The backlash follows growing concerns about public officials blurring the lines between their personal and professional lives.

Critics argue that such privileges should strictly be for those serving the nation, not their romantic partners.

This is not the first time the relationship between Biketi and Oparanya has made headlines.

When their pictures first leaked online, Oparanya admitted they were real, but seemed surprised at the public’s reaction, saying they were just “normal photos.”

Biketi, on the other hand, has been open about their relationship.

She acknowledges that Oparanya is a polygamist and insists that she has no issues with his other wives. “I respect his family. There is no drama,” she once stated.

While personal relationships of public figures often attract attention, this incident has sparked a bigger conversation about accountability.

Should government officials be allowed to extend state-funded privileges to their personal partners?

Many Kenyans believe leaders should separate personal matters from official duties. Calls for clear rules on how government resources are used are growing louder.

Will Oparanya respond to the public’s concerns? Or will this issue quietly disappear like many others? Time will tell.
