In what could see one of President William Ruto’s allies be sent to political oblivion as far as 2027 poll is concerned, fresh details now indicate that residents of Mutirithia Village in Molo have taken matters into their own hands by repairing a neglected road that runs through the area.

Frustrated by the lack of response from both their Member of Parliament and Member of County Assembly, the villagers decided to raise funds and carry out the repairs themselves.

The road, which had deteriorated over time, posed significant challenges for the residents. According to Jacob Ochieng, a boda boda operator, the poor condition of the road had been a source of continuous complaints from passengers who suffered back pain due to the bumpy ride.

“The road has not been repaired for long, and it is very bumpy. Our clients are constantly complaining,” Ochieng lamented.

Residents expressed their disappointment with their elected leaders, particularly MP Kimani Kuria, whom they accused of neglecting their concerns.

Michael Mutito, another resident, voiced his frustration, stating, “Since we elected him, we haven’t seen him. He promised to better our lives, but we are yet to see any improvement.”

The villagers emphasized the importance of the road, which serves as an alternative route to the often congested Mau Summit. They questioned why their leaders did not prioritize such a critical infrastructure that directly impacts the community’s daily life.

Some residents went further, accusing their leaders of being more present in entertainment joints than in addressing the pressing needs of their constituents. With their roads in deplorable condition, the villagers are now calling on their leaders to take immediate action and fulfill their promises.
