Kenyan lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has alleged that President William Ruto is behind the Githurai Massacre that occurred two weeks ago, with victims’ bodies cremated to conceal the atrocity.

The claims come as over 18 bodies have been retrieved from the Mukuru Kwa Njenga dumpsite and taken to morgues, sparking nationwide outrage and disbelief.

Government bloggers, led by figures like Its Mutai, Believe Kinuthia, and Jane Kyallo, have been scrambling to deflect the narrative. They are pushing hashtags that suggest the bodies found in Mukuru Kwa Njenga are victims of femicides or occult and human organ trafficking syndicates.

However, one witness has cast doubt on these explanations, identifying her friend among the victims and noting the distinctive white marks on their eyes. These marks, a result of applying Colgate near the eyes to neutralise teargas effects, were commonly seen among Gen Z protesters.

Dr Miguna Miguna’s explosive statement on social media platform X has added fuel to the fire where Kenyans’ anger towards Ruto has undoubtedly skyrocketed.

“I have received credible reports that William Ruto murdered about 400 people in Githurai and then they were CREMATED inside Kahawa Barracks. That was on June 25th night after Ruto shut down the internet. I challenge the DCI, NPS, Haki Africa and LSK to check the OB numbers of all the missing persons, establish and PUBLISH the whereabouts of all the missing persons. No retreat. No surrender. Let’s finish the job on July 16th,” Miguna declared on July 13th.

Nevertheless, The call for investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the National Police Service (NPS), Haki Africa, and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) is growing louder. As the situation develops, the truth behind these horrifying claims remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: there is no place to hide.
