John Matsekhe’s actions have caused years of difficulty for a woman he was closely involved with, and the situation is clear from the beginning. He was in a long relationship with Lydia Oginga, a Kenyan businesswoman, yet many of the things he told her were not true.

When a child was involved, he stepped back instead of taking responsibility, leaving Lydia to face everything alone.

John is a doctor who owns St. Elizabeth Specialist Hospital in Busia, although he lives in the United States. Lydia works in business, including Airbnb hosting and photography.

Their relationship lasted for more than four years. During that time, John repeatedly told Lydia that he was not married. She believed him because they had been together for a long time and shared plans for the future.

Later, she learned that he had not been honest about this, and it deeply hurt her.

In July 2019, John strongly pushed for them to have a baby. He talked about it often and made it clear this was something he wanted.

Even in early August 2019, he continued to say he wanted a child with her. But everything changed on August 7, 2019, when Lydia told him that she had taken a pregnancy test and it was positive.

Instead of supporting her, he suddenly said he was not ready for a baby. After years together and after being the one who encouraged the idea, he changed his mind the moment the pregnancy became real.

Lydia felt betrayed because she had trusted his words. She later shared parts of their conversations on Facebook, showing how he had pushed for the baby at first, then backed out, and how he had lied about not being married. She posted some of this in 2020, including proof of their discussions.

Years later, in September 2025, John contacted Lydia again. This time, he asked her to delete the Facebook post she made in 2020.

His sudden concern raised questions. Lydia wondered why he wanted the post removed if he still insisted that the child was not his. His request made people think he cared about his image more than the situation itself. Lydia also shared this conversation on Facebook.

The child from that pregnancy is now about six years old. Lydia has raised the child alone. According to what she has shared, John has not offered support.

This has made many people view him as someone who abandoned his responsibilities. Lydia has spoken about the pain and humiliation she went through.

In one post from February 2025, she said that once she finished mourning a loved one, she would confront John. She used the nickname she had for him and said that her kindness had only brought her suffering.

Some online comments claim that John left Kenya shortly after the pregnancy news and focused on his life in the US. Though he still owns the hospital in Busia, Lydia has been left to manage everything without him.

Despite this, she continues to run her businesses at Adons BNB and Mara Lifestyle Studio. Sharing her story has been her way of explaining what happened.

John’s decisions show a pattern. He talked about wanting a family, but when it finally happened, he walked away.

He hid the truth about being married, which damaged the trust Lydia had in him. Now, she raises a child without support, while he avoids addressing what happened.

In 2025, when he asked her to delete the old post, it brought all the memories back. His request made it clear that he prefers the story to disappear rather than taking responsibility.

Lydia moves forward with her life and work, but this chapter still affects her. She has shared the dates, the conversations, and her experience so people can understand what she went through. The story, which began in 2019 and continues into 2025, shows how betrayal and avoidance have shaped her journey.
