Robert Alai, the MCA for Kileleshwa, is now being accused of one of the most disgraceful acts a public servant can commit grabbing land that does not belong to him using hired goons and intimidation.

The land in question is in Runda, one of Nairobi’s most expensive neighborhoods. According to court documents and eyewitness accounts, on March 31, 2025, men believed to be sent by Alai violently entered the property owned by Cancer Investments Ltd.

They reportedly broke the gate using crude weapons, assaulted the director Mukhtar Ahmed Parkar, and damaged parts of the structure.

This was not just a random land quarrel it was a well-coordinated and brutal invasion backed by political power and connections.

Alai has been an active voice on social media for years, often claiming to stand against injustice, yet here he is, at the center of what appears to be a blatant abuse of power.

Many Kenyans are now asking how someone with no known wealth or business background can afford to “acquire” land in a high-end estate like Runda.

Public anger exploded on X after Cornelius Ronoh exposed the incident, complete with a heartbreaking video showing the eviction. It showed police standing by, doing nothing as a family was thrown out.

In a country where land disputes often lead to violence and suffering, the silence from Alai and the police has been deafening.

Comments under the viral post reveal how badly Alai’s reputation has been damaged. People questioned whether he was working alone or was being protected by someone even more powerful. Some even accused him of doing political dirty work for President Ruto, suggesting that the land grab could be part of a wider pattern of elite impunity.

Others pointed to his recent lifestyle changes like suddenly upgrading from a struggling financial state to justify suspicions that he’s either being bankrolled or misusing office privileges.

This isn’t the first time Alai has found himself in controversial territory. He has previously been arrested for posting graphic content online and faced defamation lawsuits.

But this Runda case may be the one that finally tears through the image he tries to present. Using goons to attack civilians, kicking families out of homes, and then hiding behind legal loopholes should never be tolerated, especially not from someone who holds public office.

Cancer Investments Ltd has owned that land since 1992. The law should be on their side, but political interference and manipulation always twist the narrative.

A court hearing set for May 19, 2025, will determine the next step, but if justice is to mean anything in Kenya, then Alai must be held to account.

The silence from ODM, his political party, is also telling. Why are they not condemning his alleged actions? Are they comfortable with this behavior? Are they also compromised?

These are the questions that Kenyans are left with as they watch another leader fall deeper into shame.

Alai can no longer pretend to be a voice for the people when his actions show he’s just another greedy politician abusing his power.
