Nairobi-based businesswoman and philanthropist, Hon. Agnes Kagure, has come out strongly this morning, urging leaders who want to succeed to invest their energy and resources in youth and prioritize fulfilling their demands.
In a Facebook post where she shared a photo of herself meeting one of the youths in her circle, the outspoken politician stated that any leader who does not view youth, especially in Kenya, as assets has lost their direction concerning the future.
Additionally, the business mogul emphasized that the days when youth demands were dismissed as mere noise are long gone. She further noted that going forward, leadership that listens and can be held accountable will have the favor of the common man, unlike leadership marked by chest-thumping and other vices.
“Our young people have been clear in their calls for accountability, transparency, and meaningful solutions. Now, more than ever, we need leadership that listens, understands, and acts accordingly. It’s time to focus on solutions,” the city tycoon wrote on Facebook on August 22.
It is also worth noting that Agnes Kagure has consistently been at the forefront of advocating for accountability, integrity, and other positive traits among leaders across the nation.
During the just-concluded Gen Z demos that lasted for 2 months and turned out to be deadly after hundreds lost their lives ones, when notable leaders chose to work with the govt of the day for Agnes Kagure it was business as usual (calling out the govt) and this has earned her love with Kenyans.
She has been running empowerment programs that have benefited thousands, if not millions, of Nairobians, including providing quality education, mental health support, and menstrual health education for women.
In the political arena, it is undeniable that Agnes Kagure has emerged as a viable alternative to the current challenges facing Nairobians, with insiders suggesting that she could be the next governor of Nairobi in waiting.
