Jimi Wanjigi, a businessman who has recently positioned himself as a champion for the common mwananchi, is now facing serious allegations that expose a stark contrast to his public character (s).

While he has been outspoken in criticising President William Ruto’s government for failing to fulfil election promises, new revelations suggest that Wanjigi may have been involved in a scandal surrounding the late Interior Minister George Saitoti’s vast wealth.

Fresh details have surfaced, implicating Wanjigi, alongside former Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia, in a conspiracy to embezzle billions of shillings from Saitoti’s accounts following his death.

Reports suggest that this plot involved Saitoti’s close associates, including lawyer Fred Ngatia and former NIS Director Michael Gichangi, who allegedly collaborated to siphon off the funds.

Margaret Saitoti, the late minister’s widow, has reportedly been left destitute as billions of shillings that were held in various local and offshore bank accounts mysteriously disappeared.

It is believed that the money was transferred to secret accounts abroad, leaving the Saitoti family in financial ruin.

Adding to the controversy, it has been revealed that some of Saitoti’s prime properties, such as the Kitengela Plaza, have been marked for demolition through questionable legal strategies led by Gichangi.

The total amount of stolen funds is estimated to exceed Ksh 2 billion, and the lack of accountability has fuelled speculation of a high-level conspiracy among those who were once trusted by Saitoti.
