Agnes Kagure has made it clear that her focus for Nairobi’s future lies with the youth. She does not see young people as a burden or challenge, but as powerful contributors to a better city.

“Our young people are not a problem to be fixed, but solution-bearers to a brighter future for all. In my incoming administration, the youth will not just be beneficiaries, they will be partners in transformation.

From innovation hubs to job creation, sports and mentorship to leadership opportunities, we’re already working together to build a Nairobi where every young person can dream, act, and thrive.” She posted on X

Her words reflect a deep commitment to inclusion, growth, and practical empowerment of the younger generation.

Through the Agnes Kagure Foundation, she has laid out a 2025 strategy that puts young people at the heart of every development effort.

Her plan focuses on building innovation hubs across Nairobi’s 17 sub-counties, giving young innovators spaces to share ideas, develop solutions, and build businesses.

These hubs aim to help young people turn their talents into income-generating opportunities, helping to reduce unemployment and boost local economies.

She is also investing in mentorship programs targeting both boys and girls, to help them access guidance and tools to build successful futures.

By making mentorship a key part of her work, Kagure wants to close the gap many young people face when seeking direction and support.

Her focus on job creation is also a direct response to the growing frustration among unemployed youth.

By supporting the informal sector and opening up more job opportunities, she hopes to tackle the unemployment crisis from the ground up. In addition, her commitment to sports and leadership programs is designed to help young people grow not only in talent but also in confidence and teamwork.

Kagure believes these areas will help unlock hidden potential and keep youth engaged in positive activities. She also continues to include young women in her vision by promoting leadership roles that encourage gender equality and inclusive participation.

All her efforts are based on listening to people and acting on their real concerns.

She has said before that her most successful ideas were born from honest conversations with Nairobi residents.

Her plans are already taking shape on the ground, and many see her strategy as a fresh and hopeful approach. Agnes Kagure’s message is clear, the youth are not just part of Nairobi’s future, they are central to it.
