Dr. Ekuru Aukot, the leader of the Thirdway Alliance Party, has recently attempted to position himself as a moral authority, lecturing the public on ethical behavior.

However, his actions from two years ago paint a different picture, revealing a troubling hypocrisy that questions his credibility.

Back in 2021, Aukot found himself embroiled in a scandal involving allegations of defrauding Kamau Andrew Njoroge, the party’s executive director, over a vehicle worth Ksh 600,000.

Accusations of deceit and fraud against someone who preaches integrity come off as comical. How can he lecture others on morality when he himself faced serious allegations of misconduct? This irony is not just embarrassing; it’s a glaring contradiction that undermines his moral stance.

To complicate matters further, reports surfaced that Aukot had allegedly threatened Njoroge, showcasing behavior that starkly contrasts with the ethical principles he claims to uphold. If he genuinely believes in the values he espouses, it’s time he took a long, hard look in the mirror.

In a political landscape already rife with hypocrisy, Dr. Aukot’s past missteps only add fuel to the fire. While he attempts to position himself as a leader of virtue, his actions tell a different story—one where his moral lectures are nothing more than a façade.

Before he continues to lecture others on morals, perhaps Aukot should first address his own questionable actions from the past. After all, it’s not just about talking the talk; it’s about walking the walk.
