City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi is facing criticism over what many perceive as a biased approach in his anti-corruption crusade.
While the Senior Counsel has been vocal in attacking leaders from the Mt. Kenya region, accusing them of corruption and misgovernance, critics argue that he has remained silent on massive looting by leaders from his own North Eastern backyard.
The debate was sparked by Zakir Hassan, a user on X, who has questioned Ahmednasir’s selective criticism.

“My brother SC Ahmednasir directs his energy toward attacking Mt. Kenya leaders and Chief Justice Martha Koome, but when it comes to calling out the corrupt NFD governors who are far worse than Martha Koome, that’s where he draws the line,” Zakir posted.
Meanwhile, Ahmednasir has consistently accused Mt. Kenya politicians of state capture, corruption, and judicial manipulation and, have some kind of entitlement that Kenya cannot be governed without them.
However, his silence on the alleged mismanagement of public resources in counties such as Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera has sparked accusations of tribal bias.

Critics argue that some North Eastern governors have been implicated in misappropriating funds meant for development, yet Ahmednasir rarely speaks out against them.
His selective activism has fueled a broader debate on tribal politics and accountability in Kenya.
While some of his supporters defend his stance, arguing that he targets corruption regardless of region, others believe he shields leaders from his community from scrutiny.
As the conversation gains traction, Kenyans are questioning whether Ahmednasir’s anti-corruption efforts are truly impartial or driven by personal and tribal interests.
The pressure is mounting on him to address corruption in all regions equally, or risk being seen as an opportunist using his platform for selective political battles.
