According to reports by Kenyans.co.ke, Juja MP George Koimburi has been abducted by unknown people just 48 hours after surviving a previous kidnapping attempt.

The latest incident happened on Sunday afternoon, May 25, during a church service, shocking many people who had gathered at the Full Gospel Church in Mugutha.

According to eyewitnesses, the MP was forced into a Subaru vehicle while the congregation watched helplessly. Some members of the church tried to follow the car but were unable to keep up. The event caused panic and confusion, with the service coming to an abrupt stop.

Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa, a close ally of Koimburi, confirmed the incident and revealed that the MP’s wife was injured while trying to protect her husband.

She was pushed aside by the abductors during the struggle, leaving her with injuries that required medical attention. The Senator spoke to the media and said that there had been an ongoing plan to capture Koimburi since last week.

He claimed that those behind the abduction had been following Koimburi even as he went around giving out scholarships to needy students. He added that Koimburi had narrowly escaped another attempt earlier by fleeing on a motorcycle.

Last Friday, there were rumours that Koimburi had already been kidnapped, but there was no confirmation until he appeared at the church on Sunday.

Unfortunately, this brief reappearance was cut short when the abductors struck again. The dramatic incident was witnessed by many people, including members of the church and local residents, who were left in disbelief as the MP was taken away in broad daylight.

The community has expressed anger and fear following the incident. Many are questioning how such an act could happen in public without any immediate police response.

Concern is growing about the safety of elected leaders, especially when the reasons behind these abductions are not clear. Supporters of Koimburi have raised alarm, saying the MP had not been summoned or warned by any authority before these incidents began.

They now demand answers from the security agencies and immediate action to find him.

As of now, the whereabouts of George Koimburi remain unknown, and his supporters continue to call for his safe return. The situation has left many people worried and confused, with fears that political motives or personal vendettas may be behind these attacks. The community hopes that the truth will come out soon and that justice will be served.
