Kenya’s national courier, Kenya Airways, has announced the demise of a passenger. Provisional reports indicate that the passenger is a newly sworn-in deputy governor of a county in Kenya.
According to the airline, the passenger experienced breathing difficulties while boarding Flight KQ612, which was set to depart for Mombasa this evening at 1900 hours.
The airline also said that JKIA Health and Security agencies are handling the issue.
This is the third death recorded by the airline in less than a month. Kenya Airways announced the death of a passenger on its Nairobi-New York route on September 1st.
On August 22, the aircraft KQ003 from New York to Nairobi was forced to make an emergency landing in Casablanca, where Moroccan medical workers attempted to help but discovered that the passenger, a Kenyan man, was already unresponsive.
The deceased deputy governor
Provisional reports indicate that the deceased passenger is the deputy governor of Baringo County, Hon Charles Kimaiyo Kipngok.
The late deputy governor was recently elected as Baringo county governor alongside governor Benjamin Cheboi.
