Clean business? No!

Controversial and renowned blogger Cyprian Nyakundi has this evening come out with guns blazing to accuse Mining CS nominee Hon. Hassan Joho of gaslighting Kenyans.

This accusation comes after Joho, during a vetting exercise, denied any links to corruption, drug trafficking, or other criminal activities by claiming he has been involved only in clean businesses that can be audited.

Through his X handle, Cyprian Nyakundi shared a throwback screenshot showing a damning article he wrote, exposing how former Mombasa Governor Hon. Hassan Joho allegedly looted hundreds of millions of shillings through a company called Njuca.

In his claim (in the post at the time), Cyprian Nyakundi indicated that Hassan Joho, with the help of ‘rogue’ police officers, abducted him and locked him in a secret room for about 10 days.

In addition to that, Nyakundi claimed that Joho personally visited him in the room and demanded to know where he was sourcing the information about his (dirty) dealings—a demand he refused to comply with, even under threat of death.

The screenshot has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans on X, with some siding with Joho, while others, led by Kenyan Lawyer Dr. Miguna Miguna, insist that Hassan Joho, a person who scored a D- in his KNEC exams in secondary school, doesn’t deserve to head any public office, including a ‘Nyumba Kumi’ elder position.

Earlier, the CS nominee for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Ali Joho, disclosed that he is worth Sh2 billion.

According to Joho, his wealth comes from developing undeveloped property.

“Largely developed and undeveloped property, which includes my homes in Mombasa, Vipingo, Malindi, and Nairobi. Shareholding in some property holdings, shareholding in family businesses, valuables, and cash at bank,” he said.
